Link Testing Process Explained
Understand how our link testing works with real user simulation and advertiser detection.
Step 1
Real User Simulation
We simulate a click using your real IP address and browser details to match actual user conditions.
- Uses your current IP address from the request.
- Includes your browser's User-Agent string.
- Follows redirects like a real browser would.
- Maintains realistic request headers.
Important: Tests run from your location, not our servers.
Step 2
Redirect Chain Analysis
We track every URL in the redirect chain to find our tracking system or advertiser domains.
- Monitors up to 10 redirects in the chain.
- Looks for our tracking domain (publishers.swiftdigitalads.com).
- Identifies known advertiser domains from our database.
- Captures all URL parameters at each step.
Note: Only HTTP redirects are tracked; JavaScript redirects may not be detected.
Step 3
Click ID Detection
When we find an advertiser domain, we extract the click ID for validation.
- Checks for click_id parameter in advertiser URLs.
- Validates 32-character format (standard length).
- Extracts pubid and campid if available.
- Verifies click ID exists in our database.
Step 4
Publisher & Campaign Validation
We verify you're authorized to run the detected campaign.
- Matches extracted pubid with your account ID.
- Checks if you've joined the campaign.
- Verifies campaign caps and availability.
- Confirms approval status if required.
Important: You can only test campaigns you're approved to run.
Step 5
Postback Trigger Test
If authorized, we test your postback configuration with the detected click ID.
- Looks for your configured postback URL.
- Builds postback with real click data.
- Sends test conversion to your server.
- Measures response time and success.
Pro Tip: Postback tests use real click data from our database.
Step 6
Decision & Reporting
Based on all checks, we provide a detailed report with recommendations.
- Green: All checks passed - Ready to run campaign.
- Yellow: Partial success - Review issues before scaling.
- Red: Critical failures - Fix issues before running.
- Detailed step-by-step analysis provided.
